It's a good start, but they need to add lights all the way from Middle Georgia State University to I-75...

The Eisenhower Business Improvement District got the go-ahead from the Bibb County Commission on Tuesday to add eight new street lights to the area.
This follows 11 pedestrian deaths in 2016, at least two of which occurred on Eisenhower Parkway.
Executive Director of the Eisenhower Business Improvement District Jamie Arnold said she hopes this will benefit both pedestrians and businesses.
"The purpose of this is to make the whole area safer," Arnold said. "There's a lot of focus on pedestrian safety these days. We want the consumers and visitors and pedestrians to feel safe when they come into our area and we think this is a good way to do that."
The street lights will be placed on intersections along Eisenhower Parkway at Presidential Parkway, Bloomfield Road, Macon Tech Drive and Oglesby Place.
Arnold said most of the money to do this is actually coming from the business owners in the area who paid higher taxes for revitalization projects.
This is just one of the many efforts the Eisenhower Business Improvement District is planning to revitalize the busy business area.

I do agree. Eisenhower could easily be bike friendly and aesthetically pleasing unlike Mercer U Drive. There is so much room. It is also US route 80 so the state is responsible for mowing which means once or twice a year. Macon would need to take that over and the county isn't much better. That is one of the biggest negatives of Macon. I would PAY EXTRA taxes for litter pickup and mowing....
