Cost of Living Expenses.
Also, can anyone tell me for example what a gallon of milk costs down there? Or what is the average cost of full time day care for one child? What are your gas prices like right now? I know rent there is ALOT more affordable than it is here however, what are your other costs like?

A gallon of milk is $3.50ish, gas is $3.38ish. I don't know about daycare, my children are grown. But I can tell you that you will save on clothing cost. Georgia has a tax free holiday weekend, close to back-to-school. You save tax on clothing, and any school supplies, even computers up to a certain amount. Not only that, you only need two seasons of clothing. Summer and fall/winter. The cost of living is a lot cheaper than my home state of Ohio.

Thanks for the information!! A gallon of milk here is about $3.38 and gas is at $3.92 a gallon today. In MN there is no tax on clothing year round but where I grew up in IA they have a tax free weekend like that as well and is does make a BIG difference! I look forward to no more snowpants and snow boots!! But to be honest, my kids dread not having snow to play in.

This must be a typo, because gas is not close to 3.38ish. As of today, regular gas is more like $3.83 or higher.

I have heard about something called the gnat line. Can someone please explain this to me. Is Perry a town that would be full of gnats?
|
LOL, ALL of Georgia has gnats. Never heard of a "gnat line," must be a southern humorism. I'd be more worried about our state bird, the mosquito. J/k
Perry is very family friendly, so is Warner Robins, Byron, Kathleen...but Perry is a smaller town than Warner Robins. There is for sure some gang activity in Warner Robins, but never heard anything about Perry involved in it.

as a single mom, i would recommend perry. i've lived here now for 12 years and LOVE IT! my daughter attends the best daycare in the town!! the cost ranges from $106 - $116 for full time care. school kids have different rates for before and after school.
there is one bar in perry... NOT a club by any means, but a nice safe "hang out" place where you can visit and play pool. however, warner robins and even macon have pretty nice clubs for a night out!
feel free to pm me if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the help!! I am not a big clud person but on occasion would just like some small town feel place to go and have a drink or two and relax. I would PM you but I am not sure how to do that in here. Can I ask, where did you move to Perry from?

Home prices in Warner Robins, GA and surrounding areas
I am relocating to the Warner Robins (Bonaire/Kathleen) area and am trying to decide to purchase a home immediately or rent for one year. We would rent in order to learn the area a little better but mostly because my husband thinks home prices will fall further over the next twelve months. I am hoping to get some insight into the Warner Robins surrounding communities and home price trends. We will be purchasing an existing business in WR. Thank you.
