Default Moving to Macon...Questions?

Haldo,
I'm going to be moving to Macon this fall, and I had some questions for anyone who might be from the area...

1) After comparing prices, I realized that Netflix was $30 cheaper than cable in the area - I was thinking that if I used an antenna for news and current programs on CBS, ABC, etc., I should be good. I was wondering, though, how is antenna reception in Macon? Where I come from, it's practically unusable due to the mountains, but Macon seems much flatter.

2) What are some fairly good areas to find apartments in Macon? I am a bit concerned about the crime downtown, so I would prefer something a bit safer...Probably in the 400-600$/month range.

3) What are some interesting things to see/do in Macon that I might miss out on otherwise? Any suggestions from anyone?

Thanks!
Netopalis

Well TV reception is great in Macon because a lot of the local stations are based in the city, but most are going to digital broad casting now....crime is not bad in Downtown Macon,Mostly in central Macon it is; lso there are alot of Nice new residential units DT. Also North Macon is a nice area but you may be able to find rent around $610-750 for one bed rooms....Adrian's, Ansley village,Austin Chase, Bristol park,or Barrington club.. Southwest Macon/South Bibb- Hunter's Run,Mill Creek Run or North Wood.

Here are some websites to help.
