Statistics dont mean everything because according to statistics Ft. Valley GA is more dangerous than NYC and Atlanta is smaller than Tucson, Arizona. Plus I've lived in Macon and Louisville and stats tell me Macon is more dangerous but I don't feel the same way.

New York City actually IS one of the safest cities in the country now. Has been for a while.

Ft.Valley is more dangerous than N.Y.C. (per capita) and Atlanta is smaller than Tucson, Arizona (land size).
You must prescribe to the King 9.5 and NewtownMacon school of "feel" thinking.
Stats are what they are. Statistics. Documented events and occurrences in a numerical sense. This is especially true in regards to crime data. They ain't made up... they is what they is.

I feel sorry for anyone who feels safer in NYC than they do in some small town like Ft. Valley.

You, once again, are so far off it is not even funny. Based on a population standard of 100,000 (a standard this site uses) there would be 1615 assaults in Ft. Valley compared to only 332 in New York City. That translates into an 80% more likely chance of getting assaulted in Ft. Valley compared to New York City.
Based on that same 100,000 population sampling, there would be 1245 burglaries in Ft. Valley compared to, get this, only 254 in New York City. Translation? You are 80% more likely to get burglarized in Ft. Valley than New York City.

80% more likely to be assaulted and/or burglarized... and you feel sorry for me?
God help you two. It seems as if you will need some sort of external help.....

Bulldawgfan, I HIGHLY doubt most people on this site do not understand what you mean. I understand what you're saying, but still you have to admit that it is MISLEADING in a way. For an example, I love Macon but I would consider myself more of a realest.

See: http://www.city-data.com/top27.html
Top 100 Least-Safe Cities (Highest City-data.com crime index) (pop. 5000+)

I do not see Macon on that list, but I see georgia cities such as Waynesboro, Moultrie, Douglas, College Park, Hapeville, and Brunswick. According to that, Brunswick, Waynesboro, Douglas and Moultrie are more dangerous than Macon, so we must not be that bad right? If you want to use those stats you love so much then that's exactly what they are saying, although everyone who has been to any of those places knows that with the exception of college park, Macon is more dangerous.

Dude, according to the "crime index" list Anniston, Alabama is the 12th least safe place in America. What a joke. You know that's not true man.
Have you been there? I used to go through there on 431 going to Huntsville, that place isnt even really dangerous at all, let alone 12th least safe in the country.
