Considering relocating to macon, ga area
I am considering applying for a job transfer into the Macon, Ga. Area with the company I presently work for. This would be a career enhancement move for me but i'm not to familiar with the area. I would appreciate any feedback, opinions, facts and suggestions from anyone from the Macon area to help solidify my decision to make this move. I have two young children, 4 & 3 years old, so naturally schools are a major concern and of course, quality of life especially with a young family. The facility I would be relocating to is located in the southern Macon area. I have been told that the most favorable areas to live that are still close by would be the Lake Tobesofkee area and the north Macon area. Thank you.

Byron is a nice, quiet suburban area RIGHT off I-75 just barely south of Macon in Peach County.
The Rutland/Hartley Bridge Rd. area of South Macon/South Bibb County.
Considering your job will be in the south part of Macon/Bibb....I would look into those areas first.
However you can find many areas here FAR east macon and adjacent jones county communities are nice, north macon (as you know), going out thomaston rd. in west macon once you get far enough down seems to be a pretty nice area too.

Macon is great. You will love it. Low crime, high end shopping, plenty to do... practically the center of the universe. Enjoy.

Houston County schools probably best in the area. You would have a commute on I-75. There are private schools in the area of course and GA is a homeschool friendly state.
Macon has a good medical center. As for crime, it is growing everywhere in GA. I would not care to live in Macon proper.

for someone who claims to not be a macon "troll"...and "wishes macon the best"....you sure do make alot of out the way, irrelevant, smart-elect comments concerning Macon. It's as if it hurts your soul that this person is considering a move to Macon/Metro Macon.

King_9.5,
Do not put words in my mouth. Re-read what I wrote. My comments were neither out of the way, irrelevant nor smart Alec. A person that knows nothing of our previous debates asked for opinions of the Macon area because they have a potential career enhancement opportunity.
I did not address you or your post. It seems as if it is your soul that is hurt.
Why must you bring up your poor debate record in every thread? Let it go, man. Stay on topic and quit stalking my every post... it is beyond sad.

Jones County would be my suggestion, I really love the area.. especially the City of Gray, (its like 15 miles from Macon). Jones Co. has a great school system, its a middle to upper class working area, and plus its located just minutes from Macon and Millidgeville.
