It was sad to see only 600 Republicans turn out, for the Mayoral Election. However I was glad to see Reichert win, I was also glad to see Ficklin give up his seat, but it was sad to see Anita go, now the council will have to vote on a new council president, and I believe long time record holder Ed Defore should be council president.
I also just found out that Bibb COunty has a splost in affect until next year that was used to raise 80 million to help rebuild both the city and county budget. This expires next year and most likely there will be another splost that goes into affect. IT would be good to see taxes go back down to 6% but thats not going to happen.
After 7 years of conterversy, I do believe this last year will be a greta one for Jack, as he tries to accomplish Durr's Lake, and begins to build back up a budget that he tore down.

LOL, I completely agree, I Have stated this several times, if the base was to shut down, Warner RObins would become a ghost town. Warner RObins is not a city its just somewhat of a district, and the base is half the District, and the other half depends on the base.
The county administration isnt worried about nothin but keeping the base there, and building all these nice buildings. But Warner Robins has had enough shine the last eight years, and its time for Macon to take its thrown. Na, Na, Na, Na, hey, hey, hey good bbbyyyeee.

NOt all of Central Georgia just Houston County, yes the population would dwindle but Macon would still be on the map. YOu obviously knew what I ment when I said thrown or you wouldnt have corrected me, or even spoke on the comment.

Very well put. I just recently found this website and find it interesting to hear other perspectives from different people. I like to read about places I've lived and places I would like to live.
At least in ATL or other major cities, the commute actually gets you somewhere. Driving to and from work on base is a major hassle, mainly b/c you have an entire town working in another town (the base) that has only two entrances.

Dont get me wrong its not a bad city at all, but I remember when Warner Robins used to be a gas stop, but when the government added all these jobs to the base then thats when the growth begin, I just hope the base never packs up and leave because Warner RObins, heck Houston County would become a ghost town. The major jobs industry in Warner RObins is the base, and the conjunction of fast food joints.
