Byron is close to Macon
Byron is close to Macon and a very pleasant place to live. Hwy 41 makes for an easy to drive back and forth to Macon.

How close is Bryon to Macon? What does Bryon offer that macon doesn't? Other than crime issues.

Byron is the next exit down from Hartley Bridge Rd. Hartley Br. Rd is like the last, or the most southern edge of Macon. Byron is a great location because it is also very close to Warner Robins, where I actually prefer to do my shopping, errands, etc.

There is not a single thing in Byron that Macon, doesnt have. Macon may have what Byron have ten times over, but its a good little small town, not ragging on it, but its safe, small town-family oriented, and as he said great shopping.

First of all, Byron is a tiny but rapidly growing town... Has about 4,500 people. While Macon is a city with 94,000 people... and 154,000 in the county that Macon is in.

No im not raggin on Byron, its a great town, and you can often catch me at one of Georgia's best Denny's located in Byron, off of I-75 but its a great town, and is a very beautiful. Crime is very low, being there are many crime agencies that patrol Byron.

A crime has to be first reported in order for it to become part of a stat. In many places crimes are not reported, or it gets lost in the system. Cary, NC has quite a few no no's going on, but they are not reported.

The whole city of Macon is not Bad There are nice areas and there are Bad area i'm know that you smart people have observed that in most cities the inter city is where most of the crime and slums are because the rich and famous mostly moves to the suburbs making the inter city subject low income and crime... I live in unincorporated northern Houston County and I'm as close to Macon as I want to be. If I want to go to the Macon Mall, I hop on US 49 to I-475 and I am there in 15 minutes. It takes me that long to drive to work near the Robins AF Base. And my property taxes are cheaper in the county. Downtown Macon has a lot of history. I enjoy going there from time to time, mostly we take our out-of-town guests to downtown Macon. When we moved to central GA my main concern was schools. That is why we chose Houston County.
