as far as crime and ghetto areas go...if you can live in Columbus...you can live in Macon

In both cities, the Northsides are nice, and the other sides of towns
are a mixture of
not so nice and nice areas.

If you are in ANY one of the many nice areas these cities have, you're OK.
The crime in Macon (or Columbus for that matter) is not so bad to the point where
crime from the bad areas spill into the nicer areas...even if they are relatively close to each other,
crime usually stays in the crime pockets.

Thats when you can people are just talking to be talking, This isnt Compton,
East St. Louis, or Camden.

For as paranoid and scared of blacks as some of you guys seem,
Byron would also be a poor choice for you because God forbid you
have to deal with all those blacks people passing through to go to FVSU/Ft. Valley in General
, Macon County, etc....and 20% of Byron being black as well...GOD PLEASE HELP AND PROTECT YOU!!! BECAUSE I KNOW EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM IS TOTING THOSE GUNS AND ARE GOING TO SHOOT YOU IF YOU HAVE ON THE WRONG COLOR!!

and also if they are in their teens or early 20s and happen to have on a fitted hat and maybe a chain they are automatically GANG BANGERS AS WELL!!

I'm glad I live my life the same way jam5 does, being a young black in the south I try to avoid whites everyday in fear of losing my life and being lynched!!!!


Also...jam5......according to this very site Bibb County is 47% black and Muscogee County is 43% black, so yes going from Macon to Columbus would be a complete 100% culture shock!!!

Well, I personally have never said anything negative about Columbus, I have always appreciated what you guys have informed us about Columbus and what I have done is shown what Macon has in comparison to that of Columbus and any other 2nd tier city. Such as 2nd tier Skyline (tall buildings), Venues, work force, and Development. I wish the best for all of Ga. 2nd tier Cities (Augusta, Columbus, Macon &Savannah) because we are all behind (In all of the above) compared with other states cities our size… I would not have taken your comment so harshly if you had not put so much of an emphasis on BLACKS as if that race commits all the crime. Now if you had said, “well I have planned to visit Macon, but I have heard a lot of horror stories of high volumes of looting, crimes and etc. in Macon and I feel very un comfortable in those types of environments, because I don’t want to have to feel like I’m going to be robbed or shot at by some gang members” That would have been more appropriate than putting “BLACKS” at the begin of everything and on top of that say Blacks may be the cause of Macon's Crime Reap…Lol… How would you have taken it if I said something in that nature which referred to “WHITES” or any other race in a similar case? Demeaning, belittled and stereotyping “BLACKS”….I assume if you have a Black boy friend and so concerned about safety and being in those types of negative environments then you should have known thats not the case with all African Americans(BLACKS) or any other race.

Did you ever move to Macon! I just found this site this evening checking on items about the Macon area since I sell real estate in the middle Georgia area and was horrified to see the response you got on Macon. I have sold homes here for 23 years and not heard anything like this before. Please tell me you moved to Macon and love it.
