Bibb County is on the short list for a company looking to build a new manufacturing and distribution center.
The 1 million-square-foot facility would be built in two phases,The project is so large that a Development of Regional Impact form has been filed with the Middle Georgia Regional Development Commission for its review.

Don't get too excited yet.....Kumho Tire was supposed to be the next big manufacturing center and you see what has happened there.
I do hope, however, that it works out. There is a labor pool in Macon that could fill these jobs 3 times over as our manufacturing/distribution sector has been falling terribly (as has everyone else's).
This is wonderful news if it pans out.
Now if we could just get the Bibb Board of Education to collapse and recruit new top talent.....LOL.
Maybe this Tractor Supply deal is not the same thing the OP was talking about, but it is great news nonetheless. It will be located off of 75 near the Sardis Church Rd interchange in south Bibb County right next to the current Sara Lee distribution center.

Yeah, before the housing bust, some developer had plans for 1700 new homes right off of the new Sardis Church interchange, of course, that was nixed, but if the economy improves there is an abundance of buildable land in that area conveniently located between WR and Macon.
