Smile Tuesday Evening Farmer's Market in Middleton

Hopefully this won't fall under advertising, but Middleton's downtown Farmer's Market starts tomorrow afternoon at 3pm and goes until 6:30pm in the lot behind the Middleton Public Library. I'm super excited because the Saturday market never holds me until the Wednesday farmers market! Are there some other good farmer's markets in the area between Saturday and Wednesday?

Verona has a Tuesday farmers market (I think about 2:30 PM to 6 or 6:30 PM). It's near where the bike trail crosses Main St, just south of Millers. I've never been because it's during work hours, so can't comment on how many farmers are there.

Very nice! It was a great market with really nice vendor turn out. Everything from the staples to soap and kettle corn! Will be back next Tuesday for sure! Love Middleton!

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know about the Tuesday Middleton Farmers market. I'll have to check it out right after work since I don't work too far from there.

Default Leafy Veggies

Hi,
I am new to this Wisconsin.
We went to Sun Prairie's Saturday market. It's good but not what we were looking. It has tomatoes, beans, pickles, honey,...
Once we went to Minneapolis farmer's market, & it was very lively. It has almost all varieties of Asian & many other.
Does anyone of you by chance visited this type of farmer's market.
I am looking for these eggplants:

also amaranths, Chinese spinach,.....other leafy's.
Though Wisconsin is famous for dairy products, I wonder why the cost of milk is high here when compared to nearby cities.
Also I can see more fields here, but cannot see much varieties of veggies & no other wide variety vegetable picking except "TreeFarm".

Thanks

Try the Farmers Market around the Capitol Square in downtown Madison, every Saturday from approx 7 AM to 1 PM (I may be off on the times a bit). You'll find a good variety of asian vegetables there. The Tree Farm off Hwy 19 NW of Madison is a good choice for pick your own.

Wisconsin is not a big vegetable growing area (other than cabbage and peas) due to the short summers, so you won't see too many commercial veg. farms.

Hilldale Mall and and the parking lot of the DMV have a good markets on Saturday as well. The mall has one on Wednesday as well and you can often find some more "exotic" veggies at these. There is also a market on Martin Luther King Blvd. on Wednesday which has many of the same vendors as the Saturday market on the square so depending on where you are in town...

Thanks AmySherman. We went to Saturday's market at noon and it is huge & lively. I can see more varieties of cheese, nuts, flowers(so cute), herbs, meat, bakery & much more. But unfortunately we didn't find what we are looking for. Even though Minneapolis is a bit colder or same, it has a wide variety vegetables even for less price than here. May be because of its diversity or population I can see more leafy varieties.

Thanks for all your inputs.
