Hi,

Haven't posted here in months, but check it regularly for the good info from the regular posters.

I listen to a lot of talk radio and news in Boston, as we're blessed with several talk/news stations, including an FM talk station.

Most of the programming is local, and one least one station (WBZ 1030 AM) always has live talk when the talk format takes over from the news at 8 pm weeknights. . Of course, much talk programmingl esp. overnight is syndicated nowadays. We have two sports stations also, again mostly local personalities until the overnight.

Does Madison have one or two local talk stations, at least during morning drive through the evening?

Or, do talk show addicts simply tune in to the Chicago or Minneapolis stations, at least at night when the stations are easier to pull in?

Can anyone listen to Boston's WBZ 1030 AM at night in Madison? They claim to reach 38 states and parts of Canada, but I don't believe it...at least not with consistently good reception. They do get calls from Ohio, Illinois and Michigan, but I don't recall Wisconsin callers.

You'd have better luck listening to Milwaukee talk radio ie 620, 1130, 540, 1250 or any of the chicago stations. I am a radio lover and when I lived out there in madison area I would still listen to Milwaukee or Chicago radio.

If you are liberal, there is a funny "progressive" talk station
"The Mike" at 92.1. It used to be Air America before they went belly up.

I listen to it every time I am in Madison. Those folks are a riot.

You can catch WIBA 1310 on the Internet at NewsTalk 1310 WIBA - Madison News, Weather, Sports My favorite show is Mitch between 8:15 and 11 AM (CT)

Have never caught WBZ 1030 in Wiscosnin though used to catch it in Pittsburgh a long time ago if I remember correctly. (OT: have caught KDKA 1020 Pittsburgh many times at night in Madison).
