Ive always admired Middleton for some reason. The cost of living there isnt too much different than it is here but its so pretty there.
If I had the choice, Middleton would be 2nd of where Id love to live. (Albany would be 1st).

Not surprised at the rating...

The entire Madison metro area always ranks highly in all different polls of great places to live. If we ever move back to WI, it will be to this area.

I think if we didn't love Lake Superior so much we would have gravitated towards Madison. Everything the article said about Middleton is so true. We love exploring the area.

Default WI Fared Well On List

Middleton is very nice. I am happy to see them rate so well.

I do tire of the downside of WI towns on these lists as being "winters can be brutal"...you always see it when Minneapolis gets its kudos, etc. Believe me...I know all about the length and grayness of an upper Midwest winter, however, I think by now it is just accepted and known that if you draw a straight line from the middle of Illinois or so across the nation...until you get nearer to the coasts, that yes, winters will be longer and cold. And even then...are winters in NYC more mild than winters in Madison, WI? For sure, but it isn't like they are exactly Hawaii-esque or San Diego-esque.

Having said that...it was nice to see so much Wisconsin love on this list!:

Other Wisconsin communities to make the list were Germantown, in Washington County, ranked 30th; New Berlin, in Waukesha County, 41st, and Franklin, in Milwaukee County, 90th. Three nice suburbs of Milwaukee fared very well for the list.
