I'll have to disagree with the other post. The entire Raymond Road area has been in the papers for months because of their effort to "take back" their neighborhood from the increasing crime that's occurring.
It's nothing too dramatic, no shootings lately, I've heard about more drugs/robberies and stuff. I have a friend who lives just off Raymond and his weber grill has been stolen twice, now he has to keep it chain locked to his house. You can imagine how ghetto that looks. This trouble has caused the property values in that area to drop in the last ten years.
For starters, read threads: " Madison: East Side or West Side?"
and " Professional Quiet Neighborhoods in Madison", then ask us again about a specific area that you're interested in.
