Default Insurance -Homeowners/automobile

Our homeowner's insurance goes up every year. Never had a claim. Also, not too happy with the price of our auto ins. Only one auto claim-20 yrs ago when my parked car got hit. The person who hit it didn't have insurance-she worked out a 2-yr payment plan thru my insurance co. to cover damages. My husband has never had an auto claim. We've had the same agent for forever. Maybe it's time to shop.

Is anyone particularly happy with their insurance company/agent? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

for 2+ decades up there we had American Family, which for all our policies combined (home, multiple autos, boat, and umbrella) gave us competitve rates and service. We never had auto claims of our doing, had a vehicle that was hit by another car after that car hit someone else (no fault of mine, car was fixed at no expense to me), and of course the occasional windshield replacement or repair. Our home, a month after being built, was hit by lightning; no fires thank god but zapped well over a grand worth of electronics. They took care of us right away.
Did the auto rates still seem to go up each year? Sure, but when we'd compare to other companies it wasnt worth jumping ship back and forth. In fact we would have kept them when we relocated but they didnt serve in SC. Now down here we actually went thru AAA/Travelers for all our coverage. Their rates were better then the others, havent needed to use them so really cant say how service may be.

I LOVE Wisconsin Mutual. They have settled every claim very quickly and never quibble about the estimates I've gotten. I've had them since 1989.

Thanks for the responses. We currently have Am Family.

ranger - good to hear you had good experiences with amfam. Good service makes me better about the premiums.

Megan-Maybe I'll give WI Mutual a call for a quote. It would be good to have a comparison. I hadn't heard of them-so thanks for the suggestion!

I don't have homeowners insurance, I have had motorcycle and auto policies with State Farm since 2005 and have had one collision claim on my motorcycle and glass only on my Camry. Never seen my rates increase. Claims service was always outstanding and the agents have a general sense of pride in State Farm. I work in the insurance claims industry, not for State Farm but another big name company that I won't mention here, while at work I have to deal with other insurance companies and Geico has always seemed professional and people have always seemed satisfied with there service.
