Hello,

I am relocating to Madison in August, and I am currently searching for an apartment. My options have been limited because I have a big dog. I have found one that I'm really interested in, but as I'm not familiar with Madison I want to make sure it is in a decent area. The address is 1042 McKenna Blvd. and it's managed by Forward Management.

Any thoughts? Mainly concerned with safety.

Thanks!

Another I am considering is located downtown on East Mifflin street a couple blocks from the capital. Any information on the safety of these two areas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Both areas are fine safety wise. East Mifflin will be louder and more city-ish, and McKenna is pretty much strictly residential. I'd look up some reviews on the rental agencies before you make a decision.

I might argue that parts of McKenna Bld are not so hot anymore. Go to the city of madison police department web site and check out the crime reports to be sure.

East Mifflin is a cool neighborhood. I'd move there in a second. It isn't really noisy, although you can hear the traffic from East Washington in the background.
