Default What about Oregon??

Hello,

I posted here a month or so ago, asking about some other areas around Madison, since we are hoping to relocate there next summer. Recently, I checked out some info on Oregon (WI, of course ;-), and was really impressed with what I saw. Granted, they are going to beef up their official website to draw people to their town, but what I saw and read made me want to learn more about the community. I checked out their school website and was very impressed at all the things the high school had to offer. We have one who will be in 10th grade, and one who will be starting 8th. Plus two little ones, so we will be using all the schools pretty much from the beginning. From what I read, the town seems very liberal, for such a small town, and seems to have a very open-minded, accepting, and educated mind-set (as a community, that is). It is rare to find that (not the educated part, but the liberal, accepting part) in such a small town. Can anyone tell me if this is the case, or if I am seeing something that's not there? I would really appreciate anyone's input! Thanks!

Default I'm also relocating to the area...

I have the same impression of Oregon after doing a little research. I am considering buying a home in the new Bergamont community (as well as Waunakee and Middleton). It is a gated golf course community with a very nice new pool area. You may want to check it out if you haven't already, sounds great for people with children. Good luck with your move...I'll be eagerly awaiting more replies to your post.

Oregon is actually a small town outside of Madison that has been engulfed by the suburbanization of the adjacent area...so Oregon's progressiveness is probabll owed to being a Madison suburb nowadays as opposed to being an open-minded small town. Nice place though.
