Is the Beltline Highway a slow, busy highway in rush hour traffic. I have been trying to find temporary housing in Madison for only 1 month. There is a less expensive option than a hotel, but I would have t take the Beltline Highway in rush hour traffic to get to and from where I need to be each day. Map directions show travel time as a 10-minute drive, but would the travel time be doubled during rush hour traffic? Is this a stress free or stressful highway to travel?

Which way would you be going on the Beltline? East or west in the morning, east or west in the evening?

what part of the beltline would you need to travel?
Yes it can gt backed up and double your travel time (or more depending on the location and the construction status or winter). It likely can add a little stress but if you're looking to save some coin for a month then guess you'd have to see if that trade-off is worth it compared to a little extra seat time.
My wife is on it each day, so far worst case it's been an add'l 15-20 mins tops over her best case drivetime.
Now if you're talking when the snow flies, then any WI road will slow down your transit.

The beltline is worst going west in the morning and east in the evening. From Stoughton Rd to Mineral Point is about 25 minutes during rush hour (15 min otherwise), can be longer in snowy/ icy weather. From what exit to what exit are you going to be traveling?
