Hi I am going to be moving to Madison, WI in December and had a few questions. Approximately 4 years ago I broke my lease. I was going through some medical issues and was unable to fufill it. In the process I also accumulated debt. Long story shot, I am doing a bankruptcy this month. In my current property I have always paid my rent on time as well as the home prior. I was wondering how difficult it is to rent a home with the above issues in Madison. Between my husband and I we make 80k yr and are looking for a 3BR. If anyone could assist in directing me to some apartments or leasing agencies that may work with us that would be amazing!!

Most landlords go by credit history and call to your current landlord. You have no problems with current landlord, but my understanding is your credit score sucks.

Now, if you have bad credit, some landlords would refuse to talk to you.
Some landlords would demand 2-3 months of security deposit.
Some landlords wouldn't care.

To sum it up, it's going to be a little bit more difficult to find good 3br, but not impossible.
