Hubby and I are looking for a reverse snowbird location to escape the summers in Florida where we currently live. We have a son in Chicago and a daughter in Minneapolis so Madison area seemed to be a good location for proximity to them. A friend of mine did her PhD at U Wisconsin there and loved the area.
Hubby may still want to work (he's in the health care field and can do temporary/per diem work I will be fully retired. Looking for walk-able, well established neighborhood (historic homes maybe?) with libraries, public transportation and cultural activities and amenities. Any suggestions for neighborhoods/things to watch out for? We would probably be there from late spring to fall, leaving before the snow hits.
