I agree, you could not pay me to live in Madison. Well maybe you could...I am pretty cheap.

I wouldn't say it's dull for people who don't prefer larger cities, but I could see that being the case for others who are used to larger metro areas. In terms of location, Madison is conveniently located to other areas of the state as well.

I would say yes Madison is very liberal just consider what they are teaching in schools...

I'd take that over creationism any day.

And how is that explicit? I would hope these things are talked about in school. Far too many families don't talk about them. Mine didn't, sadly.

Hey what's so funny? I wouldn't expect someone in Madison to know about Mequon.

I grew up in WI and still have family, friends and work contacts throughout. What I often have
encountered in Mequon are people who claim their political leanings are Madison but in reality more closely resemble Waukesha ROTFL

I consider myself to be quite conservative. I lived in Madison for 13 years and loved it (would move back again if I could). Yes, everyone will assume you are liberal if you are quiet about your stance on politics, probably because liberals are 70% of the population. At times I found it unnerving to be in such a liberal mecca, but I also found it stimulating, too. Frankly, some of my views have become a little more liberal than conservative (such as environmental issues and some social issues), whereas some became more conservative because of the lunacy of some liberal ideas. Regardless, I found Madison to have a superior quality of life than the other cities I have lived in. Like I said, I would not hesitate for one second to move back. WI is a fabulous state with so much natural beauty and so much to offer. I even miss those long, snowy winters! Like I said, I am a conservative and have lived in Knoxville, Memphis, Houston, St. Louis, Detroit, Madison, Omaha, and am moving to Charlotte in a few weeks, and I felt more at home in Madison than any other city. It really does have something for everyone - even us conservatives! Go for it!
