Hello all,

I'm going to a concert at The Orpheum in June and was wondering if anyone had any parking tips. I know there's the ramp right around the corner, but parking there, for a concert, is going to be terrible.
Are there any other good spots to park, ones that will be safe and within a short distance of the venue?
I could try a parking stall along the road (perhaps up by the Library), as my understanding is MPD stops enforcing parking meters after 6 pm.

Any and all suggestions would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

I'd find a side street after 6pm (yes, meters free after 6pm), and walk the short distance while grabbing a beer or two along the way.

There are actually quite a few garages within walking distance of the Orpheum. There is one ramp about a block east of the theater and one about a block west of the theater. Both are likely to be crowded, but often you'll be able to find a spot in one or the other.

There is a small surface lot on Gorham just east of State that sometimes has parking, and there is a large ramp on Lake Street that is only a 4-5 block walk away. There are also garages on each of the other 3 sides of the Capitol square (one on Fairchild, one on Webster, one on Doty) that are also an easy walk. And of course street parking. Finding parking in downtown Madison is really pretty easy if you don't mind walking a few blocks.
