My buddies and I will be in Madison on Sunday morning. I wanted to see what places you all recommend for brunch? This will be both of my friends first time in Madison, so ideally a place that is on the water, has beautiful views or something real special about it.

Can try the Nautigal's brunch on the river near the north side of Lake Mendota, and the Edgewater which is on the lake itself may have a brunch in one of their eateries (not sure though).

May have to google for some more ideas as well

I'm not a big brunch fan, so take these recommendations with a grain of salt, but there are two restaurants that do brunch that I'd recommend based on the food they serve the rest of the day.

The first is Sardine, which is in a beautiful old building on the shore of Lake Monona. Part of the dining room has lake views and if the weather is nice they do have a small outdoor seating area. There is a parking lot between the outdoor seating and the lake, but it is still quite nice. You might want to call ahead for a reservation if the lake view is important.

The second is Graze. It isn't on the waterfront, but has a wall of windows facing the Capitol building. It also has a small outdoor patio that is nice in warm weather.

Another option might be the Sunroom Cafe. They're on the second floor of a building on State Street. It's a little homier, but I've always found their space to be cute and comfortable. I can't say I've had any really memorable meals there, but the food is good and it is a nice place to spend time.

forgot to add the Green Lantern in McFarland; just south of Madison on Lake Waubesa which can offer breakfast and a nice lake view
