That's pretty standard for Wisconsin. I believe the area between Beloit and Madison has already received over 2 feet of snow this year, and winter has barely started. Not sure how much they've had up north.

Last winter set an all-time record for snowfall in Madison. Hopefully, Madison won't get so much this winter.

Does anyone have photos of different neighborhoods around the city? We're planning a move in the coming months and would like to see the areas...google maps will give you a street view, but it doesn't do the homes justice. I'd love to see the different vibes of everyday life through photos, if anyone has any to share :-)

I won't be able to during the week, but unless I wind up working straight through the weekend (happens fairly often this time of the month) I'll try to get out to take a few photos for you. Could be kind of tricky to do so in a way that doesn't offer too much in terms of identifying marks - this is a public internet site, after all - but I'll see what I can come up with.

Love this... Makes me kinda homesick. I mean that in a good way. This thread is a great catalyst for my long, drawn out moving process--from NYC. Thanks for the pics, everyone. I plan to post some winter pics soon.

First outdoor Dane County Farmers' Market of '09
It's a gorgeous, sunny day in April, upper 60s to low 70s, and it could not possibly be a more perfect day to celebrate the return of the Dane County Farmers' Market to the Capitol Square. I took my camera as we inched around the Square and got some photos to share.
Lots of folks were as eager to get out in the sun this morning as we were:
Parsnips, ramps and sunchokes at one of our favorite vegetable vendors:
And as always, plenty of folks take advantage of the wide green lawns surrounding the Capitol to relax after buying cheese curds, ramps, meat and bedding plants.
Bringing home the morning's bounty:
