I may visit during the Badgers basketball and hockey seadon.

I know both teams are very popular, especially the basketball team due to recent success in getting to the NCAA Finals.

Both teams play in the same arena?

I assume students have access to certain blocks of seating. What about someone not affiliated with the school...just buy online or at the box office? Do people sell unwanted tix outside to passersby before game time, or is that illegal? Maybe tix are also sold thru StubHub, like the pro teams do?

Obviously, weeknights and school breaks have lesser demand but still good crowds?

Thanks.

I've never tried to get basketball tickets, but hockey tickets aren't hard to come by on the UW site if you aren't picky about your seats. You can often find better seats on craigslist for less than face value if you want to take a chance and buy closer to the game date, and there are usually people selling tickets outside of the Kohls Center on game day.

it's been a few years since I've been to a basketball game but would have to assume over the past several years+ that getting tickets may be do-able but getting good tickets may not (or will be at a premium if one doesn't want nose bleed seats).

As for hockey, those may be more available if only due to the recent lack of success the team has had. May be more open seats for game day tix for those compared to basketball
