I will probably be moving to the Madison area in a couple of month and am doing some research on places to live. What would a typical commute time be from Century Ave and Allen Blvd in Middleton to the UW campus (not counting time that it takes to park or during extreme weather conditions)? What are we talking about, 15 minutes or so? Does University Ave get pretty jammed up with cars? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Nice area there. The commute should be around your 15 minutes. The bad news is lack of parking. You will end up parking on the near west side or down around the vilas area and end up walking nearly a mile anyway. Seriously consider using the bus, which will quickly run you right in to campus.

Rush hour times on University Ave are 7am-8:30am and 4-6pm. Plan on adding an additional 15 minutes for these times.

I have family members that live near that intersection, and I have driven that way many times. On a normal day it will take you five minutes to get to the campus from that part of Middleton. During "rush hour," it will take you fifteen minutes. But if you're going to the UW campus, you literally be spending twice as much time finding a place to park as you will be driving down there. Take the bus.
