Default Property Tax comparison Madison vs. surrounding towns

Property taxes in Madison are high for the midwest. That much I can gather from MLS listings and from this forum. What I haven't been able to determine is how those rates compare to surrounding towns... say Middleton, Cross Plains, Fitchberg, Verona, etc.

Has anyone located this sort of comparison for - let's say - a $300,000 house? I've started looking at the Wisconsin Taxpayer Alliance site but haven't found that kind of comparison.

Thanks.

I live in Sun Prairie, but pay taxes to the Bristol township which I think is about 25% less then Sun Prairie or Madison. I'm about to list my house for sale and property taxes are lower here which I believe will help me sell my house faster then a comparable home in town. I'm in a beautiful rural subdivision and the only thing i'm missing from living in town is garbage/recycling, and no sidewalks. Most of the houses are valued in the $350,000 - $550,000 range with taxes ranging from around $4000-$7000.
