Default Where are the most family-friendly areas?

My wife and I are considering moving to Madison. Our house range would be around 600-700K. We have 4 small children and one of the most important factors to us is being in a family-friendly neighborhood. We would really like to be somewhere where there are block parties, social neighbors, lots of kids, etc. Any suggestions out there?

With your price range you won't find a problem finding a nice house in a nice area. I just moved into a new area (Oak Meadows) it in Fitchburg which is about 10 minutes from the capitol. This area has lots of kids and the median home price is around 400K. I know there are more expensive area's but not sure how social the area is. Check out Blackhawk http://paradeofhomesmadison.com/poh-blackhawk-2008/ really nice homes there but it will cost you.
