Default driving to Madison, Wisconsin from Toledo

WE are driving to a football coaches clinic in Madison around March 22, what is the best time to be driving through Chicago?

Early AM's (12-4 am)... if you want no traffic... Chicago has always been busy for me pretty much any time of the day, but esp. at the usual busy times...

I asume you're taking the I-90 to Madison...

I would agree that between midnight and 4 A.M., would yield the lowest traffic volumes. Road Construction is however never-ending in the Chicago Metro area. Outbound traffic from Chicago is especially bad from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. or so.
