I think it's time this thread is put to a stop.

To the original poster, MTGBROKER, welcome to Wisconsin, and I'm so glad you see the beauty of Wisconsin. So many of us do, and I look forward to moving back home someday soon. Enjoy it for me until then! Many blessings!

^ and just how would you know that? Oh yes, you wouldn't. But sweeping generalizations seem to be your thing. If it makes you feel better, so be it.

Agreed jessysunshine.. probably best to let it rest. I've pretty much loved many things about all the places I've lived - it's what you make of it; it's you're attitude; it's finding all the wonderful little things that make that place different from everywhere else; it's about making friends that you'll keep once you leave. If you can do that, you'll be happy anywhere.

Being from Wisconsin originally and living in South Florida, I can chime in. Madison is a nice place, it is kind of like a Stepford Housewife perfection kind of place, everything is a little too perfect...which means if you don't conform, you are an outcast.

The main thing I would say about people in Wisconsin is they genuinely LIKE living there, they like the winter, they enjoy their monotonous lives, they like that things don't change very much...and they are very friendly and helpful. Now, I would also say that this friendliness is skin deep and socially required, I think someone would chat you up in Wisconsin but when it comes down to it, they aren't looking for a friendship or anything more.

If you find redeeming qualities here and appreciate them, you will be fine.

People in Wisconsin are quite touchy though, they are easily offended if someone doesn't share the love fest for the area, but I think that speaks more to their personal feelings for the area than for intolerance.

People in Florida, polite? DON'T THINK SO!!! But it is a place where there is great diversity and people mix...

It all comes down to what you want out of life.
