Red face Reply on Madison

I've lived in Wisconsin for 17 years, three years "up north"; four years in the heart of Madison; three years just east of Madison and now I've lived 7 years just south of Madison. As a person who has lived in Ohio, Texas, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, North Dakota, I think I have a good comparison idea. Madison is a very liberal spot in a mostly conservative state. Madison real estate is VERY high. The University definitely has an effect on rental properties which are plenty because of the UW. Homes are cheaper outside of Dane County, the County that Madison is in. I work in the southern tip of Dane but live in Green County because you can get twice the home for the money you spend in Madison. Yet I am in Madison in just 25 minutes. Unemployment is very low in this area. Madison is very diverse. I have thoroughly enjoyed Wisconsin and the Madison area but intend to leave for family in Ohio as soon as I sell my home. I would recommend this area. geoflo

Geoflo,

We are looking to possibly relocate to Madison. Can you tell me what the zip code is in Green County that you are referring to? We would need an area I am guessing that would allow a 20-25 min commute to dwtn Madison. (preferrably less for my dh)

Also, how are the schools in this area that you live in?

Thanks for any info you may have
