I can relate to that basement story MWBW. My daughters were born in CA and we moved back to Madison where I'm from, after I divorced their Father. They were about 8 and 10 at the time. My oldest was extremely frightened by tornados (don't have those in CA either) but she found out the basement was her friend; we had alot of tornado drills that summer and she spent alot of time camped out in the basement.

After you divorced their father? That's kind of a blunt way to put it.

How's that? In our case someone had to be the plaintiff.
I take it you're a Pink Floyd fan?

Maybe you could promise her a winter vacation to somewhere warm every year? But still, be careful about moving back; it isn't the same as visiting.

(Did I mention she is from Southern Cal) Want to get out of Virginia and was thinking Madison area. Virginia is getting to crowded, unfriendly and for the most part lacks everything that I miss about Growing up in Wisconsin. I know our kids would love it and eventually she would as well, but right now having a hard time convincing her. I was just seeing if anyone had a similiar story or a great smoke blowing story that would make the sun shine and the waters part!!!

Hmmm, you Wisconsin boys are all the same- my husband is quietly trying to put the wheels in motion for us to move back, too- he's from Germantown, I'm from Chicago. I know he's sent a few resumes up there, but I won't react unless and until I have reason to!!!
