Default I am a transfer student, where should I live?

I will be a sophomore level transfer student enrolling fall 2009. I want to live in a place close enough to campus to where I can still meet many people but I will not live in dorms again.

Lots of undergrads in the Basset neighborhood, roughly bounded by Wilson on the south, Dayton on the north, Broom on the east, and Bedford/railroad tracks on the west.

Also lots of undergrads on and around State Street, as well as north of the Capitol around James Madison Park.

Also lots of undergrads in the Regent Street area.

Each has its own quirks, but bascially, if you draw a 0.5-1.0 mile circle around the UW campus, you'll basically be drawing a circle of the student-heavy neighborhoods. Which you pick depends on other things you're looking for.
