Default Where to live/Which area would be best for me?

I had posted before but I knew little information about my situation. I have recently accepted a position with Lands' End in Dodgeville. I am relocating within a week and need to know where to start looking. I am 23,recent college grad, and I am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment. I do have a dog so that will also be a factor. I am looking to spend no more than $650 a month. I also would like to live in a newer apartment. I am not really too worried about the nightlife factor or being in the coolest, youngest areas. I don't really want to live in Dodgeville because of the size. I am open to Verona, Fitchburg, Mt Horeb, and the west/south sides of Madison. Just wondering if anyone has any information about where to look for apartments and also to see if my needs are even realistic. The shorter the commute is also a plus!!

Thank You

Barneveld. Kinda between dodgeville and madison. Just down the road from Mt Horeb. I wouldnt count out dodgeville though. You can always move later if ya like. HWy 18 isnt my fav road in snow.

Your dog may make it harder to find a place though especially if its a larger one.

$650 for a one bedroom is possible but not in a nice, new, and safe area in Fitchburg.

There were some pretty nice apartments on East Pass on the southwest side of Madison that were accepting a dog and renting for $700 a month. Not sure if there are any vacancies right now but the one bedroom was super large and there were even fireplaces.
