Okay! I said I would come back with another update and here I am.
So we are all settled way the heck out in Mazo and I have to say I that couldn't be happier!
There are lots of hummingbirds, turkeys, deer and bats to be seen. Coyotes to be heard. River valley fog to wake up to. Stars to be admired. The list goes on...it's really really cool.
Sure, my commute to Monona 5 days a week is long. But it's a really nice drive through the rolling hills. For now I take back roads, but when it starts to snow I will take 14.
The garage sales out here are AWESOME! I went rummaging a lot in Madison and never came home with anything. Out here I find cool things everywhere I go! And for a great price, too. My parents came to visit from Illinois and they found so many great things that people were just giving away...they were pretty excited about that.
Don't get me wrong, I do love Madison. But I had forgotten how much I loved being far from town!
Grocery shopping is kind of a drag, but it's alright. It's pretty much the only bad part about living so far away. We shop at Woodmans so I usually stop in every few days on my way to or from work. It's not too bad since it's on the way, but it is kind of annoying.
When we told people that we bought a house in Mazo, we were pretty much scoffed at and ridiculed by just about everyone. But everyone who has come out to visit has since changed their tone and usually ask when they can come back!
So thank you everyone who helped me out when it came to deciding! We are very happy here.
