Default Monona question

Hi all,

Looking to rent along the northeast shore of Lake Monona in Monona. 2 quick questions:

-how's the area generally?
-how bad are the bugs? Obviously any area near a lake will have bug issues but is it something that is a constant headache or is it manageable.

I had a friend who rented over there. It is not a bad area, even for Madison (where, compared to other similarly sized cities there's no such thing as a bad area). Monona is considered a safe suburb by most anyone's standards I think. Fitchburg (or certain areas of it) is the suburb that some would consider not so good. As far as the bugs go, I would say yes, they would probably give you a headache, the mosquitos at least... Those are mad crazy around the lake, and in essence quite a nuisance around much of Madison... I can't say whether it would be managable or not as we all have different opinions of what constitutes managable, and some also do not get bit up as bad as others. Hope this helps!
