Are there any great communities between Delavan and Madison?
Hi, My husband is being re-located to Delavan and I was wondering if anyone knows of any great areas between Delavan and Madison. I would love to move to Middleton but that would be a heck of a commute. Affordable communities near a lake or an area with plenty to do would be of interest. Any suggestions or info. would be greatly appreciated.

I like the vibe in Ft. Atkinson pretty well but haven't lived there. Same with Cambridge. A little closer to Madison are Oregon and Stoughton, and I hear nice things about these towns.

Delavan itself is a nice little town. Kind of resort-like which can be a plus and a minus. Tourists can be a pain, but they represent $$ and I'm betting there are things in Delavan that wouldn't be in a town of its size if it didn't have the tourist trade. There are a fair number of businesses that are only open during the summer months for that reason as well, however.

Decisions, Decisions
Anyone know about the Lake Geneva, Williams Bay area? I'm sure Lake Geneva is pretty touristy also, but wondering how the job scene and housing $$$ compare to other cities close by. I am an Aesthetician hoping to work with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon, so being close to a large enough area will be essential. Any suggestions or helpful info is always appreciated.

Lake Geneva is probably the most touristy town in the whole state on account of it's practically a Chicago suburb so it's an easy day trip for a lot of Chicago-area folks. It's also an expensive area.

Go to wisconsinhomes.com to get an idea of home prices in Lake Geneva. I just did, without putting any prices in and only came up with three homes, but one was 135,000 which suprised the heck out of me. It was a 1950's ranch, 1130 sq feet, three bedroom, one full bath, but it looked really nice and like it had a decent sized fenced yard.

Close to lake and shopping this 3 bedroom home is a charmer! It's much bigger than you think. A very spacious bedroom with sitting area and a patio door to the back yard. The full basement has potential for a 4th bedroom. The vinyl/brick exterior is low maintenance and there's a secure fence in the back yard. Short walk to the public beach and shopping. There is also a wheel chair lift in the garage that is negotiable. Call today!
