Default my search for housing

well folks, still looking. i posted an ad in uncle henry's looking for rental property and hopefully will hear something soon...i can't wait to move!
being american, and living in canada for so long has been hard to say the least. it is made even harder when i live about 30 mins away from houlton, and can SEE "home" across the river lol...almost torture for me.
my family finds it hard coming for visits here with having to cross the border, and as a result i usually have to wait 2 or 3 years in between visits from my parents, so the move to maine will be a blessing as far as seeing mom and dad!
my kids are very excited about making the move, and can't wait for mom to find a place so we can go. the past couple of weeks has been just insane between trying to find someplace, and dealing with customs about moving a house full of kids, critters and 20+ years of accumulated stuff. it will be hard, but nowhere near as hard as trying to stay here and quickly go broke with the high cost of living, and never ending immigration costs. it may be pretty here, and i have met some wonderful people...but in my mind it's not even close to being as pretty as maine!
thank you so much to the people who have helped, whether by talking to me, or just posting for me to read. amazing what you can learn just sitting back and listening .

thanks for the advice, but i have found craigslist to be a little strange, no offense to anybody who uses it...just my dealings with them. another thing i have found strange...on a few of the real estate sites i have e-mailed looking for more info on properties (usually old fixer-upper places which i love lol) just to be told in reply that the company with the site did'nt handle that property...even when THIER sign was in the front yard...go figure huh.

Good luck, brokenmama!
You might try posting in the "Buy-Swap-Sell Guide" too (it's the County's version of Uncle Henry's). Listings are free.

can i do that online?? i have found it so hard to even get to read classifieds online for maine. most states you can read the local newspaper classified ads online, but there seems to not be too many of the smaller town newspapers that have that. i am really not interested in living in a large town or, God forbid...city. i am a small town girl all the way and would rather look at trees and water than the house next door.
thanks so much for your suggestions
