Ok, found a house we really like in Lee. Apparently a few people like it though. Not sure we'll buy it, but it's possible that we may be interested into looking more at it.
So, does anyone live in the Lee area? Can you tell me about it, the people, closest shopping and hospitals, etc?
Are you working with a buyer agent that can help you with the shopping and medical facilities? If not, the listing agent can provide that to you without compromising his fiduciary responsibility to the seller. How do you know a few people like it?

The listing agent has been great about answering my questions on the house. I'd like someone that actually lives in the area's opinion of it though. First hand info, basically.
The listing agent is the one that said he's had a few calls on that particular house. We've got quite a few others marked that we like that we've not called on yet. This one just happens to be our favorite of them all, which right now doesn't mean that much. We're not going to buy anything unseen and since I'm in the middle of interviews and management company take overs at work (again) I can't go anyplace at the moment, so it's not like I can go see the house right now anyway. So if it's bought before we can see it, then it's just meant to be for whatever reason and that's fine. Not too worried about it right now.
I live nearby. The closest hospital and shopping are in Calais and Bangor. The people are nice. It's a small, busy town. There's a high school that is private/public depending upon the percentage of local kids enrolled at the moment. It's one of the schools my kids could have chosen. There's never a lack of outdoor activities but if you like to go out to eat at a variety of places, are an avid mall shopper and see movies in a theater you'll want to drive to Bangor.

Thanks!
An hour to a hospital may be a problem. John's got so many medical problems. It's been a couple years since his last heart attack or stroke but I'd still worry.
Other than that it sounds good. We're not shoppers and we tend to eat out in the same few restaurants in town every time. Not big on food experimentation. When we find something we like, we stick to it. We're boring! And not theater people. Daughter graduates high school this year and is in her second year of nursing so she won't be coming with us, so schools aren't an issue.

The hospital and WalMart are both 12 miles away. The people are nice and we have a very low crime rate. There are 10 great ponds in town, a boat lanch, public beach with picnic tables and great fishing. Lee Academy has students from all over the world. The local kids go free. One student from Singapore shot a bear. The student had it frozen solid in dry ice and shipped it by air freight to Singapore for taxidermy.
By the way; The hospital has a brand new ER, operating rooms, a kidney dialysis unit, MRI unit and cat scan unit. (Good food too.)

ACKI!!! I just saw what I said. The nearest hospital is in LINCOLN, not Calais. I'm so used to writing Calais that I didn't give it a second thought. It's still not that close when you have serious health concerns but it's definitely not as far as Calais. I'm sorry about that!
