Once we are in Maine we will cut down to one vehicle, most likely older because we won't take on a car payment. The house I have been currently talking to DH about has property taxes of only $443 a year as opposed to our one here that's over $2K. And like forest, we don't have any monthly bills that add up to over $200. Monthly expenses for gas and groceries are the only things that top out higher than that.

I am glad to hear that I am not alone.

You are looking at a home in Maine where the property taxes are less than a quarter of your current property taxes, cool!

Any suggestions? Just wandering how is the property tax at maine?
Great Book for you to look at is "Where To Retire In Maine" By Victoria Doudera. She will give you a great look of the whole state of Maine. Good Luck.
