i really do not see how they can be concerned about a neighbor in hunter orange outside in an open area. if you are running around a crowded subdivision, fine.
Sometimes we do shoot at night. I have shot fishers out of the tree in the fornt yard at night. I have taken a shot at noisy coyotes as well. I'm just not going to do it in an effort to pi$$ off neighbors I really have nothing against except for them dumping leaves on my side of the road and calling the police because I was target practicing. Both little things that really don't bother me much at all. It's the attitude I don't care for and perhaps that can change. If not, so be it . We can be neighbors without being neighborly.

I don't want them to leave I want them to learn. I'd like to have them over for a venison dinner with some wine in front of the fireplace and actually listen to them explain their fear of hunting, their desires for hope and change, and perhaps I'd get a word or two in during the process. I understand the fear people unfamiliar would have around guns and seeing people running around with them if they were never exposed to that kind of thing. I find it irrational from my point of view but I'm not beyond seeing someone else's perspective. I'm not planning to stop what I do but I'm sure with communication and some exposure they might see the other side of the coin.
If they don't.... at least I've tried .
The venison dinner is a great idea. Why not also invite them over to shoot? Not long after I arrived here, the neighbors invited me to shoot some clays. We had a great time. Even if your neighbors are not firearm owners it might be worth the cost of some ammo to help them learn.

You know, I'm thinking if we could (FINALLY) legalize fireworks in Maine, you could really have some fun! We've been blessed with some great neighbors, but one who lives behind us (we're on a corner lot) we refer to as "Hagatha". I'm not even sure I remember her real name, which is the biggest problem with assigning nicknames. Anyway, the name certainly fits. Hmmm... come to think of it, I could have an awfully good time with those fireworks too....

Any chance of freezing those? I need some more pelts, skulls and teeth from both.

That's a really great idea to resolve the situation. You impressed me with your clear, collected thoughts, and willingness to talk it over. Two thumbs up my friend!
