(interiors at 20th Century FOX studios 1956....EXTERIORS at CAMDEN and BELAST....don't forget the big 20th Century FOX MUSICAL: "Carousel" ....stop by Boothbay Harbor visit the same Gift Shop used in (late afteroon) LOBSTERMAN returning Sunsets !! ....during the day, watched the dancers and Actresses do it OVER and OVER:...one of my favorite Selections: "JUNE IS BUSTING OUT ALL OVER"....and with a Metro-Soprano STAR criss-crossing our Maine grass and made to look like they were doing the 'laborious' the first time! ...quite a scene...just loved it...and there was a *behind the scenes argument and fight betwee the Director: Henry KING and an Actor/Dancer....interestingly, Frank didn't like it being so COLD....but he sure loved one song he included in his "concerts" up to the 90's ("MY BOY BILL....)....check it out....

Several of Stephen King's pics have been shot here but not all were 'based' in Maine...all of 'Pet Semetary' was shot here, mostly in the Ellsworth area...parts of 'Creepshow 2' and 'Graveyard Shift were shot in Bangor....Bangor International Airport was used extensively for 'The Langoliers' mini-series.

How about Stephen King's "Riding The Bullet"? I believe it was set in Maine but not sure if it was filmed in Maine.

Empire Falls, hands down. It was filmed in Skowhegan, Maine. A downtown restaurant was turned into the Empire Grill just for the movie. It's still there and doing a booming tourist business.

Mooovies!
Hey! What about "The Whales of August"--if I've got that right, wasn't it Chebeague or Peaks? AND in 2004, a small indie was done on Bailey Island, "Four Corners of Suburbia." Made it all the way to a gigunda festival in LA, then a series of smaller festivals in both US and Europe--has been extremely well received on the festival circuit, but alas, no wide distribution yet. Check out "Four Corners of Suburbia" on web for latest. Some chance it will be shown in Brunswick this year, if only to thank the locals who were SO amazing!
