When you get stopped by the police, they normally run an in state check and a national one on the information on your drivers license. If there is a warrant out for your arrest in another state, its best to assume they will put you in jail.

When I was in college in Texas, I worked as a dispatcher. We arrested people all the time on out of state warrants. I don't ever recall running someone's ID, it coming back with a warrant and that person walking free. Just because it was from a different state, that didn't change anything.
