Most of my acquaintances obey the law so I would have no first hand person knowlege of such things.

I don't think violating probation is a misdemeanor.

Reminds me of a t-shirt I saw this summer: "EASTPORT; Come on vacation, leave on probation".

Don't know about your question, but I can't be within 50 miles of Mariah Carey.

Well going to a state to try and run away from your problems/mistakes isn't a good idea to begin with. I'm not so sure about Maine since I'm an implant here, but do know in Missouri they will arrest you and hold you in jail if you even have something as minor as a ticket in the database so it's possible Maine will do it too.

I know of an individual who was arrested for OUI and after receiving his sentence (but before serving) which was 3 days in jail, decided he wanted to move to California anyway. Off he went and lived happily for over 15 years. Funny thing happened at his mother's funeral. Seems the town policeman who had arrested him decided to check out whether this scofflaw would attend his mother's funeral. Yep, he was there. Didn't get to visit with the family since it was days before he was released for time served. Why would anyone not want to make it right with the law for a misdemeanor? Looking over your shoulder doesn't seem like a way to live one's life, and that cop that you put one over on, will remember!...and there is a code among law enforcement that will make it tough for the scofflaw to come out on top.

I have this hunch that if some place will pay to take some body back, well, hasta la vista.
