He has applied for a pardon many times as the outgoing Governors have left office.

Is this necessary and fair?

This is one of those 'gray areas' IMO.

To me, his case is not necessarily 'fair' however, if on the second time he was picked up for DUI, he had hit a family of 4 head on, I may be inclined to feel a bit different.

Why was the first conviction not sufficient enough of an issue to get him to designate a driver the second time? That would be what I'd want to know.

So long as a person has paid for their crime, and it was not a violent crime, I see no reason why it should stop them from hunting.

Agreed and foster kids are usually removed from a home for a reason (or 10) related to behaviors of either themselves, or more likely the parents.

Still, I'd like to see personal responsibility make a big comeback, and then the question of felony convictions would go away. Pie in da sky I know...

Pffffttt...right there with ya.

But, this is yet another example of one reason why dumb laws get passed. They've clamped down on the DUIs because of habitual offenders. Is it necessarily "fair" in some cases? Nope.
