This is the second Maine unit to come home without losing anybody. Afghanistan is a hard place to serve. The literacy rate of Afghan troops is about 5%. Like our situation 40 years ago in Vietnam, you are never sure who the real enemy is. We trained a group of scuba divers and when they graduated they disappeared. They sent a "Thank you" note for the training. They were VC.
