Best fried clams are, in my mind, are on the dock bottom of the hill from MMA in Castine. I take my wife there on the motorcycle for our anniversarry dinner. She loves it and it's well worth the 3 hour ride. The Wa-Co has a fantastic lobster club sandwich. Packed full. Don't know how they do it for the money. And Bank square for pizza and such. Then again, I'm biased. My wife owns it. Out of state...Carraba's. The calamari and the bread are out of this world. "Ciao, ya'll." Love it.
Wasn't that The Sail Inn? Just before the bridge before you cross into Verona?

I've been to the place in Castine you're talking about, back when my brother was a cadet there. (18 yrs ago) I love Castine!

There's nothing wrong with being biased or proud of your wife! She's lucky to have you.

Carrabas? On every corner down here and agreed, great calamari!

Welcome, retired (and yet another Eastportian... the whole town will be on these boards soon). I love bank square pizza.. and haven't tried the lobster roll at the Waco, but I will next time I'm up.

Yes, I remember now. It was the Sail Inn. Not sure where the Seagull was then. And my brother is an MMA alumni. Half my family is I think. Great place, very respected world wide. Wwrite your own ticket after graduation pretty much.

Glad you like the pizza Dramamama. I'll pass the word to "she who must be obeyed". She'll enjoy the news. Yes, a lot of Eastporters on here. Makes for good networking and such.

Ditto on the Chick-A-Dee fried clams. A place I really like in Auburn is Roy's Steakburgers. The burgers are fresh ground slider types and the fries are the absolute best. It's always the place to go for lunch after a Marden's trip.

Down here in the Bath area, I like the Cabin for pizza, El Camino in Brunswick for Mexican food, and Red's Eats and the Seabasket in Wiscasset for seafood. I love Five Islands wharf for the views and the lobsters, but I think the fried seafood has gone downhill somewhat. Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster in South Freeport has improved over the past few years. I'm an onion ring addict and I just love their onion middles. Mmmmm.

For a big occasion, my favorite restaurant is the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse. Scallops in Pernod Sauce....oooooh.
