In Lubec? Thanks for the thought. There are a lot of other beekeepers closer to Lubec though, I am sure they got this one under control

My hives are doing fine. I have three new colonies this spring

Last week I assisted a friend whose hive swarmed. She had only gotten this colony a month ago, and it was already swarming. Her colony appears to be incredibly aggressive bees; they reproduce very fast, build comb fast, produce an extremely large amount of honey, produce fresh queens really quick, and they have proven to be extremely defensive toward their beekeeper. Which surprised us.

My colonies are very docile in comparison.

I have never used it, but there is a pheromone product available, similar to the pheromone that ladies excrete to attract a male. It can be used to draw bees away from a new place they are trying to establish, and into a hive box. With such a product [a bait] it should be possible to remove all the bees from a hollow wall without any need to rip open the wall.

Though personally I do not think it it wise in Maine to leave your walls empty and hollow. Better perhaps to fill your walls with insulation.
