You lefties really have to stop with the dissing of Fox News. Fox BLOWS away all of the other networks combined on an HOURLY basis not just daily weekly and monthly. You may not like their reluctance to skew the news to the left but there is a HE77 of a lot more people on that side backing them, buying from their sponsors, buying the books of their guests and program hosts than anything the left has been able to put together EVER and that's with five networks (Three over the air networks plus MSNBC and PBS, which is publically funded by the way) on your side. Not to mention a number of magazines and newspapers no one reads anymore. You can dismiss Fox News all you want to but you are whistling past the grave yard. The network is number one in all categories and has been for a number of years. When is that going to sink in with you deniers?? Numbers don't lie, Revenue streams don't lie, ratings don't lie and Fox doesn't lie. You can call them stupid, say they are far right, say they slant the news, and their audience are all hicks with no brains. But these hicks with no brains out number you more than five to one!! Get over it and crawl back under your collective rocks before someone tosses some garlic in your face. And SHUT up about Fox...your legs have been kicked out from under you and YOU are the ones who now look stupid.

I was just thinking the same thing.

For posters to say that Al Jazeera should not be condemned when they publicly have ties to Hezbollah is asinine. If any US network were to publicly have ties to illegal organizations, you can bet your fanny that network would be dragged through the coals and lose millions of viewers. Al Jazeera may cover mainstream stories but their ties to terrorist organizations are reprehensible.

This story comes from the "country bumpkin" news network, Al-Jazeera Airs Tape of Captive U.S. Journalist - U.S. & World - FOXNews.com and it shows immoral reporting on the side of Al Jazeera. There is no way a US news site would be the first to "break a story" that dignifies terrorists' demands by airing their grievances on TV. Al Jazeera's showing of a woman that would be killed unless terrorists' demands were met by the US government is akin to laughing in our faces because the terrorists were undoubtedly going to kill one of our citizens. Sickening. US journalists are killed frequently in the Middle East and it would happen less if news networks like Al Jazeera didn't air the terrorists demands; there would be no reason to hold hostages if demands weren't going to be heard. ::Rant end:: That being said, enough of the bashing of any US news network--Fox or MSNBC or CNN. They each have their slant and that's it. However, there is no defending the museum that honors Al Jazeera.

"They used to be a bad news organization = to Fox News ,"

'..........before opening your mouth' is good advice.

Are you related to the folks who thought the Trojan Horse was a fine gift from the Greeks?

Credibility lost trying to equate FOX and AJ.

Mo Atta came through Portland, ME as well as NJ. There is no room in either state to celebrate supporters of Islamic terrorists. The only exception would be to keep them close for investigation in the best tradition of keeping your enemies closer than your friends.

I have to ask the "rail expert", what's your preference, clapper, virginia or sora for the most sporting rail?

Nevermind. Your celebration of RRs to nowhere in NJ is taxing enough.

Exactly the right question. I read the news on their site all of the time and it's excellent. The funny thing is that their news is always the same as the Canadian Broadcast Commission or CBC. CBC is also a very excellent source for hard news.

All of the main American news outlets are good for laughs only. All of them just suck big time. My wife watches them and what a load of garbage they broadcast.

The day ANY US news organization shows Americans being beheaded I will condemn them as well. AJ is a willing voice of terror groups [and I wonder how much they fund them as well]

Mod Note:

The last few posts seem to be directed toward Al Jareeza itself as a news organization.

That's a topic for for the Politics forum.

For purposes of the Maine board, please keep any posts focused on the Maine angle -- the museum.

How is the Jill Carroll tape any different from the New York Times printing the Unabomber manifesto or ABC news airing the demands of Hezbollah over videotape of an Israeli soldier being held hostage? (And why did you have to reach back five years to find an example?) There is no difference, of course.

Quite simply, all the knee-jerk responses to an A-J reporter appearing at the museum here in Maine show an abysmal knowledge of A-J itself and an almost hysterical reaction to the idea that an ARAB-centered news organization can be anything but bloodthirsty terrorists. Fox News has done its work well, I'd say.
