Molly, this past weekend 4 snowmobiles were observed on the bridge at the same time. For safety reasons there is a sign on each end of the bridge suggesting that one sled was to cross over it at a time. A buddy hauled the remains out of the river with a skidder and bucket loader and commented how heavy the debris was due to the snow load.
The cables were an inch in diameter and the suspension was regulated with turnbuckles. Having said that, there are some, including local snowmobile members, that are publicly wondering if the suspension was tampered with.
Ribbets, where were you building these concrete block buildings on the mountain tops and why?

I belive they were part of the TEL-Star communications system. I can remember 4 that I worked on Andover,Mexico,Rumford and one that overlooked Worthley Pond I think thats in Peru ,just below Rumford. Were I saw a thermos of coffee freeze solid in less than an hour.

Oh...Ok, I get it now...the first trans Atlantic communication was derived from Comstat in Andover.
In grade school we took a bus to Andover to see the inside of the "Big Bubble," as it was called for it's dome shape which was covered with a canvas type material.
Before the dish turned on railroad tracks to help fine tune the signal, a very large siren would sound and large red lights would flash...just amazing to see for a wee lad.
