Great photo MEnME!

Looks like I may finally get a new camera body. Yeah!!! My old Minolta Maxxum is showing it's age and I am starting to really like the digital format. While I have a decent digital point and shoot type camera, it just doesn't feel right to me. I have finally made up my mind and am going to get a Sony Alpha series camera body. Probably an A100 because it is within my price range right now. If I can find a deal on an A200 I will take it, but they are almost the same exact thing. 10.2 Mega-pixel, and the best part is that I can use all my existing lenses for the Minolta on the new body. I am looking forward to getting back out with a camera I have some control over how the photo is taken.

I'm burning pics to discs so that I can delete them from the PC. I put this on the Photography board too. I jumped out of her way. This is at Sandy Stream Pond in Baxter State Park. No zoom on these pics, we were that close. Yes, I know, big and dangerous. They're so used to people that they pay little attention to us.

Also at SSP. This is Big Rock. If you've been there you can picture this. I'm standing on the ledge, thinking this bull is going to follow the others AWAY from me, but he decides to lick minerals from the granite I'm standing on. I had to think about either scrambling up the rock or jumping in. I decided I'd go up but thankfully he left. I don't think he ever looked at me.

El,

I don't know if it was doctored or not. I received it in an email. I thought it was a tender moment for the dolphin to come to the rescue of the dog.

Actually, the photo of the killer whale with the dog in the boat is real. I read the article about the whale several years ago, maybe in Audubon or Smithsonian magazine. My memory is fuzzy, but here is what I recall. The whale was a youth, and stayed in the Vancouver Island's harbor area. It was extremely friendly with humans and seemed to love boats. Some folks loved it and others feared it would be injured by a propeller or eventually injure a person. I couldn't find any more info on a Google search, but maybe one of you guys can.

That ain't no dolphin! Killer whales are known to be, well, killers, or predators of smaller and not so small creatures like seals and other mammals, so I would be a little cautious with one taking a look-see at my dog.
